Case Study - Brickyard

Full website, email, managed services, desktop support

Brickyard Building Materials had an outdated, 90’s style website. Back Office Geeks updated their website that catapulted them to the top search position for over a hundred industry search terms.

They also had an outdated IT infrastructure. Working with their primary software vendor, we oversaw the transition from a self-hosted IT infrastructure to an outsourced one. As part of that, Back Office Geeks migrated their Microsoft Exchange email and Microsoft office shared files to Google Apps for Work.

Product Catalog Website

The Brickyard needed a catalog – something short of a full ecommerce website – that would showcase the wide selection of their inventory. We installed WooCommerce and created a product catalog that ranks well in national search engine results and gives customers and designers a one-stop place to browse products from several top brands.

Local Pages Management

Masonry stores are very “local” which means that they don’t do a lot of business outside of a range of 100 miles from each store. The Brickyard has 3 stores, so we created and optimized 6 local pages. These pages get almost half of their online traffic.

Email Migration

Since their old Microsoft Exchange server was in need of replacement, they chose to migrate their email solution to Google Apps for Business. We migrated their entire email database into the cloud and as a result they have better spam protection, access from any device, gigabytes more space per mailbox, and office tools that have become indispensable to the sales team.

Ongoing Management

As part of their service, Back Office Geeks provides a number of ongoing services, including:

  • Hosting
  • Domain Management
  • Google Analytics
  • Backups
  • Monitoring
  • Software updating (required with WordPress)
  • Desktop IT Support

Let's get to work.
